About Us
Come and spend a morning learning a new skill with me, Sarah Delahoy, Printmaker, experienced tutor and owner of DelARTful Designs Printmaking Studio.
I graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Decorative Arts, specialising in textiles and printmaking in 2000. After careers as a Trainer and an Art Teacher, I now run my business as a full-time artist, developing my own work as a printmaker at a studio in the grounds of my home in the Forest of Dean, where I also teach printmaking workshops.
My prints are created using linocut and collagraph printmaking techniques, mainly inspired by the natural world with a focus on wildlife, but I also like to explore retro imagery from my childhood.
As well as limited edition original prints, I also print my designs onto greetings cards, gifts and homewares.
There are three half-day workshops to choose from (aimed at all abilities and suitable for complete beginners) and you will take home an edition of your own unique print.
Introduction to Linocut
A type of relief print where the design is cut into the surface of the lino with sharp tools. Ink is then rolled onto the raised areas and printed by hand, or on a press.
Introduction to Drypoint
A type of intaglio print where a sharp needle is used to scratch a design into a sheet of drypoint plastic. Ink is rubbed and polished into the scratched lines and printed on an etching press.
Introduction to Collagraph
A print made from a board, collaged with different materials and textures. The board can be inked using a combination of intaglio and relief and printed through an etching press.
